Epimedium wushanense 'Caramel', Barrenwort

Large, long-spurred, caramel-colored flowers are suffused with dark orange at the cup, and wonderfully long and narrow, evergreen* leaves are rose-purple when young, their spiny edges more ornamental than threatening. This plant would be worth it for just the leaf if the flowers weren't also exquisite.

*Foliage is cut back for shipping in the late fall and winter. Expect new foliage in the early spring.
